How does a coin-operated pool/billiard table tell the difference between the cue ball and others?
How does it automatically know how to seperate the cue ball from the colored ball if you "scratch"? ah ha! Thank you.
The cue ball is a different size. It's smaller and able to go through a "tunnel" that stops the larger balls. See More

A billiard table shop which became a bookshop?
Does any reader remember the following story? About 30 years ago a shop in Melbourne, Australia which sold billiard tables got in trouble for opening illegally at weekends. They got around the law by becoming a bookshop instead. Their books were expensive - $1,100 each - but with each book purchased you got a free billiard table. That's all I can remember now! I would love to get further information about this story, or a link to anything about it on the Internet, if there is one. Thanks.
